IMPORTANT! MAINTAINING ORIGINAL NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION
Posted 8 days ago by Vicky Stone-Gale
A licensee must maintain their national board certification that pertains to their education and training required for initial licensure, as Florida law requires current national certification for APRN practice
For example: If a licensee is a nationally board certified FNP and then obtains Palliative Care & Hospice certification, they can not drop their FNP as that is what they were trained for in their initial APRN program
If initial board certification is dropped, it must be reinstated by taking the national exam again and submitting it to the BON
YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SUBMIT YOUR PROOF OF EDUCATIONAL NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION FOR LICENSE RENEWAL
