New Continuing Education Requirement For Nurses: "Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace"

The Florida Board of Nursing has added a new 2 hour CE requirement. Beginning with renewals after August 1, 2017, every Florida nursing professional will be required to complete 2 hours in the subject area of Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace. The 2 hours are required during your first renewal after August 1, 2017, and then every other license period after that. So if your license renewal is April 30, 2019 or later, you are now seeing this as a requirement.

This course must be taken from a Florida Board of Nursing approved provider, not from a nationally approved provider. It is part of your total 24 hours, not an addition to the 24, so in the biennium when it is required you will notice that your general hour requirement will be reduced by 2 hours.
